Lock Wall & town promenade
Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada

The weather continues to provide perfect cruising conditions for us. After a two and a half hour cruise to the entrance of the Ottawa River we moored to the lock wall that can accommodate about 15 boats.  Other than a little noise from highway and train traffic 100 yards away, it’s a wonderful location.

One side of the channel is a park with water flanking both sides which provides privacy and green space. Stan and Colleen choose that side for their dog could have space to run.

Barb and I chose the other side as it’s lined with restaurants, all with outside seating and a pedestrian walk. The sidewalk was filled with plenty of people enjoying the weather and water front location. About three feet down from the side walk was our dock which provided a great people watching platform and location to talk with the locals.

Barb and I took the opportunity to eat at one of the sidewalk restaurants then return to our boat and enjoy a live concert that was staged 100 feet from the boat. It doesn’t get any better!

Tomorrow at when the locks open the Anderson’s and us will start up the Ottawa River on our way to Ottawa, Canada.
