Barge Illinois River?? are we lost?? |
Another day of slow cruising through a region of Florida I didn’t expect to look like this. The river winds its way through a thickly wooded an undeveloped landscape. On occasion we would come across a small group of cottages or fish camps but most of the time it had the appearance of a northern river with lots of moss hanging from the trees! I was expecting palm trees not cypress and oak trees.
The anchorage we chose was a recommended site off of the St. Jones River on Murphy Creek to view alligators and turtles in their natural habitat.

The big question is ----- will we see an alligator tonight or not!
