Leaving Murphy Creek

Sights along the St. Johns River

Crossing Lake George

Our night on the hook was most pleasant. An alligator swam past the boat Quest and others were seen by Huen on Lucky One. Barb and I didn’t see any thing until the sunset and we were in total darkness. Using a flash light I shined the beam into the lily pads close to our boat. There they were looking back at me with their red eyes. The bigger the space between the red eyes the larger the alligator! I was happy to see them, but I still need to get close to a large one swimming next to the boat!

Made it across Lake George

Osprey nest on daybeacon

The noise from the alligators, frogs and other critters was loud enough to wake me up a few times during the night. Each time they woke me up I got the flash light and tried to locate them. It truly is a different world!

Can you find the alligator??

Our view at Hontoon Island State Paark

The three boats had a tough time getting into the harbor due to low water wind and current! The ferry boat that could shuttle us across the river to a restaurant had shut down for the night so Huen stepped up and cooked fried green tomatoes and pork tenderloin for all. This guy is amazing in the galley!

Tomorrow we will move to Sanford. We don’t expect to travel any further south with water conditions this low. We are now scheduled to stay in Sanford four days.
