Barb and I were at the gas dock by 7:30am to refuel for the trip north! The marina was very apologetic about the outboard motor and knocked a little off our stay. That was nice but I still have a zip lock bag of parts in the boat! We were under way by 8:15 and followed Carl and Huen out of the marina.

Along the St. Johns River |
It was a very hot day to be on the water but the wind was low and the seas were flat as glass. There are a great number of forest and brush fires in this region. We encountered smoke and haze making visibility poor and the air quality uncomfortable. Considering the speed restrictions we covered 70 miles in 9 hours.

Our anchorage at Turkey Island is beautiful. The three boats were rafted together, before a late dinner was served on Quest, prepared by Ricki while underway.
