Morning fog

Leaving Midway Marina

We had an exceptional day of cruising. Once the morning fog lifted we were notified that the closest lock could pass a group of us immediately so off we went! As we progressed down the river every lock was waiting for us with doors open and the green light flashing. When we arrived at Columbus Marina we had passed through four locks and had traveled 60 miles, a very long and busy day. The weather has changed from ice and long pants to tee shirts and shorts! I can hardly wait to get to the Gulf! Everyone knows the weather is unusually warm and the cold weather is just around the corner!

"Shuttle service"

The best thing about the Columbus Marina is it’s filled with boats and people we have met before. Stan Anderson rigged a line from his boat across the channel to our slip and left his dinghy for us to get into then pull ourselves across the channel to his boat! He and Colleen invited a group of transient boaters most loopers to their boat for cocktails. When we arrived, there were 18 people there, 12 of them we have socialized with before somewhere while doing the loop!

Tomorrow we will have a water pump installed on the port engine. Nothing major just regular wear from using the boat! The boat timer just turned over1200 hours and she still runs like a deer! Barb and I haven’t added up our total miles traveled on this adventure in the past three years but we know it exceeds 9000 miles!
