Canal Wall down from lock 29A
A full lock! |
Along the Rideau |
The two boats covered a lot of territory today. The distance was short 21 miles, but the locks were many. In addition to having a few double step locks we had two triple step locks which complicates matters. At this point we are past the half way point on our way to Kingston the last lock on the Rideau Canal .
The hot weather let up a little bit today by having a breeze to move the air, that’s great for personal comfort not parking a boat in a crowded lock cell filled with boats. The temperature is dropping so sleeping should be comfortable!
Moving the swing bridge before leaving the lock |
Entering Lock 29A last lock of the day |
We are now moored to a wall under a nice shade tree next to a city park filled with flowers. This is an old city where shopping and restaurants are close by. Everyone dined at “My Place” a family restaurant, a short distance away, for a wonderful meal.
Tomorrow more of the same as we continue down the Rideau!
