Heading to Lake Ontario

Oswego Lighthouse

Everyone was up early and by the time the local church bell tolled seven times we were underway. The ride was a little rough for the first three hours with the wind on our beam then improved as we entered the river. By the time we arrived at Cape Vincent it was down right pleasant. I was elated to get back into the Great Lakes again!

We found space on the town’s free dock and tied up for the night. The town was small clean and crisp with a feeling of New England. There was a city square flanked by a couple of stores and restaurants. Our stay was enjoyable.

Weather permitting we will move 15 miles to Clayton, NY. Clayton is home to the Antique Boat Museum a must see on my bucket list.
