Dan and Jori’s home
Surry, New Hampshire

View on our drive

Today was our day to take a road trip! New Hampshire is a state covered with densely forested mountains, miles and miles of back roads dotted with home sites carved into the rocks and trees. Coming from Illinois where you can see corn growing as far as you can see this is totally opposite to our norm.

Goose & Willie's

With GPS and road map in hand we headed north crossing back and forth between Vermont and New Hampshire. We followed the Connecticut River until lunch time stopping in Orford, NH. We dined at a delightful road side stand named “Goose & Willies Café” next to an old building being renovated and soon to be a restaurant and tavern! Chef Willie, wearing chef’s attire, prepared our lunch and served it next to the driveway under an umbrella! The whole experience was totally delightful!

From there we chose a different route to return to Dan and Jori’s home. The roads were a little rough, narrow and without center lines, but three hours later we arrived back where we started!

Another great adventure!
