Port St. Joe Marina
Port St. Joe, Florida

The gathering here in St. Joe continues to be fun. The speakers were informative, entertaining and enjoyable.

One of the speakers was the local TV weather man informing all of us of the impending storm that will get here Sunday afternoon! Gale force winds are predicted with 9 to 12 foot seas. In the harbor it should get rough so tomorrow morning I’ll add additional lines and prepare the boat for the major storm! Tuesday looks like the seas will lie down and with a little luck we may get under way!

The US Coast Guard presented a program then did safety inspections if requested. This is the earliest I have ever had the inspection and received a new sticker.

Sea Tow also did a presentation which was very informative. The group had lots of questions regarding the difference between rescue or salvage of a vessel in distress.

Happy hour was fun followed by dinner, a low country shrimp boil with many of the boaters bringing side dishes. Everyone was well fed if they so desired!

For entertainment, the marina sponsored a long game of BINGO where everyone went away a winner thanks to all of the local merchant’s generosity!  Tomorrow the marina is sponsoring a breakfast in the marina café at 10 am.
