Today was a productive day! The new chart plotter is installed and working. Our work list is now complete which has never happened before but I am sure if we think hard we will able to think of something new to do!

The marina sponsored second annual looper gathering kicked off at 5 pm with happy hour followed by a BBQ. The BBQ was prepared in a double barrel shot gun cooker! The food served was different than anything I had tasted before. The pork was as one would assume it should be and was served with a choice of four different sauces. The slaw and onions were also BBQ’ed, different but very enjoyable.

There were lots of familiar faces and old acquaintances as many of the attendees drove to this gathering at the marina. Tomorrow a list of guest speakers will address issues and concerns of those looping and cruising Florida waters. We have signed up for a 2011 Coast Guard safety inspection. This is really early as we are usually in winter storage at this time of year!

The boat continues to rock and roll due to the wind. Our boat isn’t that big so we move around more than others but I noticed tonight as I approached our boat every one was rolling around! What we need is 5 more feet and 10,000 additional pounds! The weather for tomorrow is predicted to be lousy with 7 to 9 foot seas in the Gulf! Don’t think we’ll have a quiet day in the harbor!
