Day 146 – Saturday, November 6, 2010

87° 19.963’ W
34° 48.741’ N
Joe Wheeler State Park (day 16)
Rogersville, Alabama

8:00 am ---

Stan and Colleen Anderson on Next Endeavour, Carl and Ricki Guthrie on Quest and Charlotte and Bill Langford on Precious Time just departed from the dock. Other than Charlottes Black Berry falling into 18 feet of water it was a letter perfect departure. Some of the dock surfaces were icy ------ a strong indicator to start moving south!

5:00 pm ---

Wes and Jeanie Quigley on Miss Ruby a 42 custom trawler hosted happy hour on their boat that they built over a seven year period. I don’t think I have ever seen cabinetry as beautiful as what they constructed. Every detail of the boat is perfect and a pleasure to look at.

Tomorrow Boomer and Moor $tuff will turn south and Amalia will head north. We sure will miss traveling with them! Greg and Leslie are very special people and great people to associate with.

Earlier today I changed oil on both engines and while checking for oil leaks noticed a small water leak on the port engine. After checking for the source of the leak I found that the water pump was the cause and needs to be replaced. I have called ahead to Columbus Marina to have them order the pump and have it ready to install when we get there next week.

Tomorrow when the fog lifts we will get underway and pass through two locks then enter into the Tenn-Tom waterway.
