Joe Wheeler State Park (day 11)
Rogersville, Alabama
Barb docked our boat today! There was little to no traffic in the marina and the weather was perfect. She backed the boat off the gas dock rotated it 180 degrees then drove it to our slip where she turned the boat and backed it into the slip! When the weather is right and she’s in the mood we will do it again and again!
A table was set up on the dock and a group of experienced loopers shared their logs and experiences with Chris, Bruce, Barb and I. Charts don’t show how to enter a cut or anchorage they just show where they are located! The information is appreciated and valuable for our planning and cruising experience.
We had another dock party to celebrate Leslie and Greg Marsh in their trawler AMALIA for completing the Loop! I’m not sure how long it took them to complete their dream but they are truly experienced boaters and have earned the right to fly the gold AGLCA burgee.
Tonight eight of us, all Loopers, ate dinner at the State Park restaurant. The company was great but the food was typical of every State Park restaurant we have eaten in.
