Cumberland River at anchor behind Dover Island
Near Dover, Tennessee
Bruce and Chris waving good bye |
The day started with a phone call from Paul and Cindy stating that they felt better and were under way. Paul gave me his location and considering their speed and our location we had two hours to get ready if we were going to meet them on the Cumberland River.
We said our good byes with Chris and Bruce as they pushed us off from the dock. We will reconnect with them next week on their return to their boat from a quick trip home. As we headed for the river and entered the main channel, we could see Bulldog Sally a mile down stream. After a short period of time they took the lead and we cruised down the Cumberland to where we have anchored for the night.

I am really impressed with the beautiful landscape we have encountered so far. There are a lot of rocky cliffs with lush green low lands interspersed along the way. I am sure there are houses close by but there hard to see from the water.
Paul chose a great place to anchor on the back side of an island. In the morning when we get underway we will continue up the channel and re-enter the river.

Tonight we watched a beautiful sunset over the stern of the boat with the weather outside cool, the feel of fall in the air.

Tomorrow we will stay at the city dock in Clarksville, Tennessee before reaching Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday.
