Day 15 – Monday, June 7, 2010

N - 45° 22.608’
W - 084° 57.581’
“Mackinaw City”

We awoke to blue skies no wind and flat water. What a great way to start the day! We cleared the break wall at 9am sharp and headed north to Grays Reef (left)and White Shoal. Once past White Shoal Lighthouse (right) we turned east to view the great Mackinac Bridge in all of her glory. Two hours later we passed below her to enter the Straits State Harbor Mackinaw City to begin a two night stay. This was the fifth time Barb and I, cruised the Straits of Mackinac and by far the most pleasant cruise to date. After securing the boats the ladies went into town to shop and the guys had happy hour on our boat until they returned. Frost is expected tonight so will get the heater going to keep warm. Tomorrow we will soak up some local history and visit Fort Mackinac then prepare the boat for our next cruise to DeTour Passage about 45 miles E-NE from here. De Tour Village here we come!
