Day 12 – Friday, June 4, 2010

The day started off with calm water, blue skies and little to no wind. Barb and I moved our boat from the slip to the gas dock to top off the fuel and pump out. No sooner had we secured the boat to the gas dock the skies started turning dark to the west. The owner of the boat yard told us there was a storm brewing and it would arrive within the hour. If we were to leave we needed to get moving. Before the crew finished filling the fuel tanks the Harbor Master announced that a storm was within twenty minutes and that he wouldn’t leave the harbor! I took a look at his weather station in his office and decided to stay in the harbor. We finished fueling the boat then moved the boat back into slip we had just departed. About an hour later the Harbor Master suggested that I hook up another power line to run the heater because of a pending cold front approaching. He was correct on both accounts and we spent a quiet day snug and warm in the boat.

Six of us went to Suttons Bay and had dinner at Boones Prime Time restaurant. I would recommend it if your in the area.

Tomorrow John and I will meet at the Harbor Masters office at 8 am and plan out our day. As it looks now ----- we will probably spend another day here!
