Gangplank Marina
Washington, DC

Jefferson Memorial
Today we walked to the Lincoln Memorial. We also visited the World War II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Close by
Whitte House
we viewed the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial overlooks the Tidal Basin as will the soon to open the Dr. Martin Luther King Monument. The reflecting pool between the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument was
Garden near Tital Basin
under reconstruction and scheduled completion will be next year.

The afternoon was spent visiting the
World War II Memorial
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum a must see if visiting Washington, DC. It’s impossible for me to understand how a nation could endorse a mad man like Hitler and allow the extermination of Jews and any other groups of peoples he found inferior!

Vietnam Memorial
While returning to the marina we passed the local fish market and purchased a bag of fried shrimp – then returned to our boat for
World War II Memorial
dinner.

Tomorrow we plan to visit Arlington National Cemetery.
