Leaving Walburg Creek

The most remarkable thing happened – we have blue skies and the air is fresh! What a refreshing change from the past week or so! It was so enjoyable seeing the scenery as we winded our way through the complex waterway leading to this marina.

Carl and Ricki will leave their boat here for a week beginning Monday when they return home to West Virginia. On their return they will pick up two grandchildren.

Scenes along the way

Cricket and Huen are going to a different marina 6 miles up stream. They will have the boat pulled and electronic upgrades installed. Cricket will probably fly home to visit her father and Huen will wrap up loose ends on a business he no longer participates in!

Barb and I will get a few repairs made (the outboard motor) and detail the boat - weather permitting. It’s time for an oil change as we have now logged 1500 hours on the engines! The boat is dirty due to the soot settling on the boat due to the forest fires. A major scrubbing is in order. We have two deck lockers when opened that were coated with black fly ash. It’s unbelievable how much fly ash has settled on the boat from fires 50 miles away!

If possible we will have a few canvas repairs made while in port. The suns UV rays are destroying the stitching now holding things together!

The bicycles will come out of storage and be put to use! Our week to ten day stay will be enjoyed before we push north towards the Chesapeake Bay.
