Melbourne City Marina
Melbourne, Florida

The morning started out warm and turned hot setting a record of 96 degrees!

Cheri and Bob joined some of our group for Bloody Marys before the three boats departed the harbor. We sure enjoyed our visit together and look forward to a trip to Vancouver late in the fall where we will reconnect.

Leaving Fort Pierce

Today was hot and some what unpleasant due to the love bugs swarming around us and the boat. Again we were subjected to speed restrictions which made the 48 miles we traveled seem like a much greater distance! The scenery was mostly rural with an occasional Bald Headed Eagle or Ospreys to keep us entertained. For a portion of the trip we were also escorted by porpoise swimming next to the boat.

The channel coming into the harbor is very shallow and all of us kicked up a ton of mud. I would think twice before coming here again due to the shallow water! I’ll feel much better when the boat is in open water and out of their entrance channel tomorrow.

Lucky One and Quest behind us

Arriving at Melbourne Harbor Marina

Tomorrow we will cruise to Cocoa Village Marina where we will have the opportunity to view the next shuttle launch rescheduled to Monday, May 16 at 8:56 am eastern time! This will be the last time Endeavour will fly!
