Considering our exposure to river traffic our night was quiet with little rocking.

We woke to a bright and beautiful day. We walked to a tourist information center less than a block from the dock and purchased tickets to a Gray Line Tour of the city. We then took a walking tour down Broadway with all of its watering holes featuring live music - finishing up at the Ryman Auditorium. The Ryman Auditorium is filled with history and is stilled used for concerts. The building is old but is considered the second best building in the U.S. for its vocal acoustics. Tomorrow night we will know if it’s true as we have tickets for a concert there.
Nashville has a free bus that we rode to their farmers market. We picked up a few items there and needed more supplies that they didn’t have. We asked where the closest grocery store was located and directed to a local Kroger Super Market some distance away. After walking there and realizing what we would have to carry back to the boat, we decided to take a cab or bus if available. I asked three firemen in uniform that were in the store if they could direct us to a cab stand or bus stop. They told us to load our groceries into the fire truck and climb into their double cab. Then they drove us back to our boat about a block from their fire house! If that isn’t Southern Hospitality nothing is!

Our ride! |
Later in the day we walked to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum where I wasn’t expecting to see very much. I was surprised at how well every thing was displayed and how the history of the country music scene is presented and archived for future generations to enjoy. When visiting Nashville this is a must see attraction!
